How to install ubuntu server?

how to ubuntu server?, Ubuntu Server is a server-based Linux operating system distribution developed for servers regardless of the version of Ubuntu used for personal computers. Unlike standard Ubuntu distributions, Ubuntu Server does not use a graphical interface to install. Therefore, the person who will complete the installation must have at least a basic level of server and Linux commands.

The steps you need to follow for Ubuntu Server installation;

Boot the server system with ISO file from CD-ROM or USB.
When the boot screen appears, a menu will open for you to choose the installation language. You can switch to the next stage by selecting the installation language you prefer from this menu, which also includes Turkish language options.
Now you will see the actual Boot screen of Ubuntu Server and the screen with different function menus will open. To install Ubuntu Server directly, we can continue with the “Install Ubuntu Server” step.
We have to select the language option that the operating system will use from the setup screen. We will continue in English, because many software works in perfect harmony with the English language. However, if you wish, you can successfully complete the installation with a different language option through similar steps.
You can choose your current geographic location from the location menu. Although you can choose the language in English, you are completely free to choose the location you want.
In the next step, the Ubuntu installation will want to know which continent we are on. Again, at this step, you have the right to continue by answering as you wish.
In our next step, Ubuntu Server will want to know which country we are from. You can also make this choice yourself. If you are going to choose Turkey, you can easily access the countries that are in the letter T in the list by pressing the letter “T” on your keyboard.

Ubuntu Server installation has the ability to automatically recognize your keyboard type. On the screen that will appear after the country selection, it will ask whether you want your keyboard type to be detected automatically under the title of “Configure the Keyboard”. With the option “Yes”, you can check whether it will automatically recognize your keyboard or not. To make a manual selection, you can continue with the “No” option. When you continue to make a manual selection, keyboard types and models will appear according to the countries. From this screen, you can choose Turkish for your keyboard and choose your keyboard from the Q or F option.
Now we can specify a Hostname, a network name, for our server. After determining our network name, we can proceed to the next step with the “Continue” step.
In our full name menu the setup assistant will ask us for a full name or alias. Since you will be configuring the server, you are completely free to choose the name. For example, if we were setting up a server for WM Tool, we would assign the name “wmaraci” as the full name.
In the next step, determine the user name that will be preferred when logging into the server. If you do not have a username, you can use the username “admin”.
Now we will need to enter the password for our user account twice. Be careful to choose a private password that you do not use on a different platform. If you choose a simple password, the setup assistant will tell you that your password is a weak password. However, if you wish, you can have your simple password accepted by the system.
After determining our password, we will see the option whether our home directory will be encrypted or not. Encrypting the home directory is a security advantage, while it will slow down the processing of files and make it more difficult to copy your files in the future. At this stage, the choice is entirely yours.
Let’s set the time of our server in the Time Zone menu in accordance with the region we are in. Automatically, the setup assistant will try to estimate your time zone. However, if you want, you can manually set the time.
Now we have come to the driver configuration stage, which is an important step for the server. After configuring your driver as you wish, you can start the installation.
When the installation starts, the necessary files will be copied to your hard disk and the system will start to be prepared. During this phase, be patient and wait.
After most of the files have been transferred, the installation assistant will ask if you want to use HTTP Proxy. Since many users do not use this feature, if you do not know how to use this feature, continue with the “Continue” button.
Now our server will download some necessary files from the internet. If the server is not connected to the internet, it will give you an extra option to view these files via USB or CD.
While the files are being downloaded, you will be faced with a question regarding security updates. You can answer this question according to your own preference. It is recommended that you keep security updates turned on by default.
In the next step, you will see a menu containing service packs that you will use for your server. Check which of the service packages you want to install, including LAMP, and finally continue with the “Continue” step. Make sure that the OpenSSH Server package is selected in order to gain access to your server.
In the Bootloader step, if you do not intend to use an external Bootloader, you can complete the GRUB Bootloader installation by saying “Yes”.
Finally, a message will appear on the screen that the installation of the Ubuntu Server is complete. After clicking the “Continue” option, you can remove the boot media placed on the server and restart the server. Your server will now be ready to use. You can log in to the Ubuntu Server by typing your username and password.

You can click here to download the current version of Ubuntu Server. You can start downloading the latest version provided for Ubuntu Server by clicking the “Download Ubuntu Server” button in the window that opens.
